November Water Tank Update

Hello Rimrockers,

There have been a series of challenges getting trucks up to the water tank site but we’re happy to report a major milestone in our progress. On November 20, eight, 8-yard concrete trucks and a large concrete pumper truck successfully made it to the water tank site. The slab base of the water tank was completed, and all went extremely well. Attached are some awesome pictures of pour day.

Unfortunately, all of the delays prevent the completion of the tank build this winter. The contractors will be back on site this spring when the weather warms up and dries out. All contractors have agreed to hold their 2025 prices, so we are well positioned to get this project operational.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season!

RRC Community Update - November 2025

Hello Rimrockers,

Another season is over, and a lot has been accomplished. We had our last board meeting of 2025 on October 18. The water tank project continues to proceed. The new manager, Jeff, is doing a great job and continuing to learn what challenges each new season brings. Here are some updates:

Fall election results:

  • The budget passed overwhelmingly. The $50 increase in dues goes 100% to reserves so we should be in good shape to finish the water tank and be ready for the other major expenses coming up. Thank you to the community for supporting the long-term financial health of RRC. As of the first of January, please make sure to update your autopay payments to the new $250/month amount.

  • Amending the bylaws to allow virtual meetings also passed overwhelmingly. The equipment is all set up in the community room. Please be patient as we perfect this technology to meet our needs with some trial-and-error video meetings before it becomes routine. Remember, the bylaw change makes it acceptable to have video meetings but not a requirement.

Water tank project:

  • The water tank project is continuing to proceed. The excavator finished the first phase mid-October, and the concrete tank builder is scheduled to start on November 4th. The attached photo shows the tank pad after plumbing has been installed and compaction tests complete.

  • When the tank is completed the level control system will be installed and calibrated, the plumbing crossover will be done, and the tank/plumbing will be flushed and sanitized. We’ve been told it will take less than a day but be prepared to have no running water for two days. There should be no effect on your residence for those who are not here during this time.

  • The exact timing of completion is weather dependent and subject to the inspection schedule. Even though it’s taking longer than projected the results will be worth the wait.

Marina work parties:

  • The marina work parties on October 11th and 18th were well attended. Tie-up cleats were secured on all the docks, tires along the boat launch were secured and placed along the rocks and the jet ski beach parking area was cleaned up, recarpeted and new gravel placed. Thank you to everyone for getting involved!

Community/ Manager space:

  • Phase one is complete with two new shade structures and a fence separating the manager’s space. A huge thank you to everyone involved! This could not have been accomplished without generous financial donations, persistence of the design committee, Bill and Pene Pennebaker and the other volunteers who put in several hundred hours of their time to get these built with minimal expense to the park.

Again, thank you to everyone who dedicated their time, resources, and commitment to making RRC a great place to be!

RRC Board of Directors

Thank you October 18th Work Party Volunteers!

Special thanks to those who helped work on the boat launch, tying the tires to the shoreline, and refurbishment of the jet ski area. We appreciate your time and hard work.

Office and Managers Space Update

A huge thank you to all of our incredible volunteers who dedicated their time and energy Monday through Friday last week, contributing nearly 300 hours worked, to beautify the Office and Manager Space. Special thanks to: Bill and Pene Pennebaker, Randy Hill, Ray Hudlow, John Corgnati, Steve and Nanc Tuttle, Ned and Sarah Kautzman, Alan Good, Jeff Roessner and to all of the generous donors who made this possible.

The first phase is complete! This phase focused on building coverings and create some privacy for the manager’s residence. Thanks to the efforts of the team above this space looks amazing!

Next up we begin the planning and fundraising for phase two (click here to view), adding beautiful landscaping to create a warm and welcoming entrance to the park.

10/18 - 10/19 Blue Lake Boat Dock Work Party

Hello Rimrockers,

Our docks need a little off season maintenance. We have a work party planned for the weekend of October 18/19th. The more help we have the quicker the project will go.

When:

  •   October 18: 10am (work to start after the board meeting)

  •   October 19: 9am

Work party plan:

  • Relocate cleat on each dock from 1 to #3 position.

  • Replace or install 3 screws on every cleat end of boards with 1” longer screw. If only 2 screws in the cleat end add a third screw.

  • If enough volunteers, replace carpet in the jet ski parking area.

Tools Needed:

  • Impact driver

  • Drill

  • #2 Philips tip

  • T-20 Torque tip (star)

  • T-25 Torque tip (star)

  • 1/8" drill bit

  • 7/16 End wrench

  • Small-medium plastic tub for tools and discarded screws

Please plan to meet down at the marina after the board meeting Saturday morning. We hope to see you there.

Thank you,
Marine Committee
