Labor Day 2025 Wheeled Vehicles Rules of the Road

Dear RRC Owners,

Labor Day weekend is here already and, as you know, it is the busiest weekend of the season. Please take a moment to read the following rules of the road for all wheeled vehicles.

There has been a profound increase in the number of complaints the board receives concerning young children riding motorized vehicles unsupervised and in dangerous ways. We do not want a serious accident to occur so please do everything you can to keep your kids safe and make a rule change unnecessary. If a neighbor or board member asks for your cooperation, please comply immediately and respectfully.

  • Water tank: Please do not drive your golf carts up to the water tank construction site. Our legal easement only allows access for construction and maintenance of the water tank. The ground is steep, soft, and unstable so no one without specific authorization should ever go up there.

  • Unattended small children: Please keep small children directly in front of your lot, especially when riding wheeled vehicles of any kind. If they ride on any of the park roads, they must be directly supervised to avoid injury to themselves and risk collisions with others. Do not allow small children to cross Moore Road on any vehicle unless an adult is directly supervising.

  • Obey traffic rules: Please treat wheeled vehicles such as bikes, hoverboards, scooters, etc. as vehicles and follow all applicable traffic laws, including stop signs, one-way arrows, and other traffic signage. Park staff may occasionally avoid one-way arrows in their line of duty.

  • Night Driving: Golf Carts MUST have working head and tail lights.

  • Moore Road: Golf carts may be driven on Moore Road but ONLY between the RRC second entrance and to the storage sheds. However, drivers must have their valid driver license on them and absolutely no alcohol. NOTE: The County sheriff patrols the road and there is some ambiguity on whether a golf cart needs to be street legal or not, so it is at your own risk if the sheriff interprets the law differently than RRC understands it.

  • Pedestrian safety: Be aware of pedestrians, especially children and the elderly, and yield the right of way.

  • Speed limits: Observe the posted speed limit of 10 mph within the community.

  • Parking: Please park wheeled vehicles in designated areas and avoid obstructing walkways or driveways.

  • Helmet use: We encourage the use of helmets for added protection.

  • Beach area: No wheeled vehicles on the beach other than small wagons.

  • Speed Bumps: Do not go on private property to go around speed bumps.

Owners are responsible for educating their guests and upholding the rules and regulations governing our community. Please enjoy our amenities with safety while being a good neighbor.

Thank you and enjoy your weekend!
