Grant County Property Setback Update

Hello Fellow Rimrockers!

Many of you have recently received a letter from Grant County Planning and/or the Treasurer's Office notifying you of a proposed Unified Development Code Amendment affecting our community.  If so, you may have found the language to be somewhat confusing, so I thought I'd provide a bit of clarification.  The UDC Amendment is something that we (the Rimrock Cove HOA) have requested.  Currently, the County's front setback requirement is 20 feet, which as you can imagine significantly limits our options on placing permitted structures on our small lots.  By comparison, the internal Rimrock Cove front setback requirement is only 10 feet.  With the cooperation and support of the Planning Department, Fire Marshall's office and the local Fire Chief, we have formally submitted an application to have Grant County reduce their requirement to 10 feet as well.  This has several benefits, with the most obvious being greater flexibility in utilizing our lots.  The change would also align the County's requirement with our own, as well as more accurately reflect current park usage (as most of us are already closer than 20 feet from the street).  Please note that nothing about this process affects existing structures.

We are very hopeful our request will be accepted and I've been told we should have a final decision by June.  However, if for some reason the application is denied, Rimrock will continue enforcing the 10-foot front setback for all new trailers, sheds, and other non-permitted structures.  I hope that helps.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to call or e-mail me.

Thanks!

Golf Cart Repair and Service

**Update**

If you made an appointment with Gary Harlow (with Zero Handicap), he has asked me to let you know that he has to cancel all appointments and any subsequent appointments as he has become unable to work any longer.

Thank You
Dixie
-------

Gary Harlow with Zero Handicap, the golf cart repair company that was here last year will be coming April 17th to make any repairs that may be needed.

He has asked that if you do need repairs, to call him in advance and make an appointment so he knows what parts and equipment to bring that day. His phone number is 509-470-7700. I don't think he will be taking any repairs that aren't scheduled for that day so make sure if you are in need of his services that you give him a call and get set up with an appointment.

Thanks,
Dixie

Office Update:

IT'S SPRING - Hope everyone had a great winter!

The office is now open. Hours of operation are:

  • 9:00am - 5:00pm Friday-Tuesday
  • Closed Wednesday and Thursday

If you haven't heard, I will be leaving the Cove sometime in June to go back to Tennessee to be with my family. I have truly enjoyed working for this company and the people associated with it, and especially the owners. This is my third season here and I can't imagine having worked anywhere else. Thank you all for being so kind to me.

Speed Limit:

Recently many vehicles have been speeding in the park. Please be reminded and remind your guests that the posted speed limit is 10 mph. Not 20 or 30. Doing more than 10 mph in the park is dangerous for our walking public and our children.

Boat Parking:

Boats are starting to come into the park already. Most everyone will get their same parking spot this year with the exception of a few changes to accommodate more party barges.

Trailer Bug Spraying:

If you would like to get on Bishop's bug spraying list, please stop by the office, or email/call. Last year they charged just over $100 - est. (2018 pricing not known at this time). Bishop's will invoice you directly for the service.

KJ's Weed-Eating:

If you would like to get on the weeding-eating list ($35 for the season), please stop by the office or email/call. When sending your check, please make it out to KJ"s not to Rim Rock Cove, and please put your lot number on the check.

Reminder on Annual Dues:

When mailing your check for dues, even if you have auto-pay, please put your lot number on the check. It is very important so that checks are deposited to the correct owner.

Tree Trimming:

Bill would like everyone to know that in the near future, there will be someone coming out to trim trees. If you have a tree(s) on your lot that you want to be trimmed, let Bill know and he will include you in the list. Any trimming done on your property is at the owner's expense.

Pets:

The office got a call yesterday from a concerned owner. They were concerned with the amount of "poop" left in their yard by others dogs. Please remember that your dog is required to be on a leash when not on your property and it is YOUR responsibility to pickup ALL their waste. Even if it is in someone else's yard. To leave it there is NOT ok. If your guests bring pets with them, please inform them of the rules of the park. This is a wonderful community and it's everyone's responsibility to help keep it that way.

Thanks,
Dixie
